Lanna Wedding Ceremony

The Tourism Authority Of Thailand, Paris Branch coordinates with Thai Airways International and The Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi Chiang Mai to organize the Wedding Ceremony in Lanna Style. This project is a one of plan to promote the art and culture of Lanna to the world by inviting 15 couples from France and Belgium. In this event, there are many media, advertising companies, magazines and business owners and tour operators to participate with.

- IT Society Club Seminar

Last Saturday, we attended the seminar.with Chiang Mai IT Socity Club at UNISERVE Building, Chiang Mai University. Many students and people come participating the seminar and we had a chance to suggest our website and got a lot of knowledge about google map, twitter and free opensource program. - Wai Khru Ceremony

Last week, every student came to school with a bunch of flowers for their teachers. The flowers used in the arrangement are symbolic. Dok Ma Khue (eggplant flower) represents the respect because when the tree is blooming its branches bend down in the same way a student pays respect to their teacher. Ya Praek (Bermuda grass) represents patience because although the grass looks wilted it is still very much alive. Khao Tok (popped rice) represents discipline because the rice is placed in a pan together and heated up to become popped rice. Dok Kem or Ixora flower represents the sharp wit and brainy because Kem in Thai means the needle.

The ceremony usually begins with a Buddhist prayer ritual and followed by the student’s chant. In order to express their gratitude and formalize their relationship and also asks for the blessing of the student’s studies.
